GREEN APPLE AND GINGER

Green apple and ginger are the stars of this smoothie. This is an amazing combo that wakes you right up and makes your body feel on fire! The tartness of the apple paired with the slight spice of the ginger are to die for. Ginger is an amazing, health packed ingredient. Amongst many benefits, ginger is loaded with antioxidants, can help improve your immune system, and can help relieve indigestion. Apples have their own bag of tricks as well! They are not only refreshing and delicious, they also can help improve digestive health and heart health. They are also a good source of vitamin A,C, iron, and calcium.

CAYANNE PEPPER

Cayanne pepper brings a great kick to this smoothie. It helps elevate the spice of the ginger. Cayanne pepper can be a great addition to any dish, offering many health benefits. Cayanne pepper can boost your metabolism, improve your digestive health, and help lower blood pressure. If you can’t handle the heat, just skip this step!

SPINACH

Spinach is always an amazing ingredient to add to a smoothie. Out of all of the greens I feel like spinach offers the most neutral flavor, but it is packed with nutrients. Amongst many nutrients, spinach is a great source of folic acid, iron, and calcium. Plus it adds a fun green color to your green apple smoothie!

BANANA

Bananas are a great natural sweetener and helps keep you fuller for longer. Make sure you freeze your bananas. I always buy a big bunch of bananas at the beginning of the week, peel them, and pop them in the freezer for easy use. Freezing your bananas makes the smoothie creamier and obviously colder.

OATS

I love to add a bit of instant oats to my smoothies. They add fiber, protein, and iron to the smoothie. But most importantly it keeps you fuller for longer. I feel like the addition of oats can be the difference between getting hungry at 10am or making it to lunch without my stomach growling.

LEMON

Lemon is a MUST in smoothies that are fruit based! Whenever you make a smoothie and something is missing…it’s most likely lemon. Lemon brightens flavors and brings that extra depth that excites your palate. Plus it’s a nice hit of vitamin C.

HEMP SEEDS

Hemp seeds are an amazing addition to any meal! Due to their nutrients, they are beneficial for brain and nerve health. They are high in healthy fats, especially omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for mental health and brain development. I personally toss them into all of my smoothies whenever I have them on hand.

DATES

Dates are an excellent way to add a bit more sweetness to a smoothie and add a bit of a caramel flavor. Amongst many health benefits, dates are a good source of copper, manganese, and potassium.
