Beyond Meat Sloppy Joes

Traditional sloppy joes are the childhood favorite of many. But vegan sloppy joes?…It is possible? YES! A BIG YES! Not only is it possible to make vegan sloppy joes, when you use vegan Beyond Meat for your sloppy joes they taste incredibly like the real deal!

If you are vegan, vegetarian, or simply trying to eat less meat, but still crave that meaty flavor and texture, you NEED to try Beyond Beef. This vegan meat alternative is fantastic! It’s full of protein, easy to cook with, and the flavor and texture are perfect!

Where to buy Beyond meat

These days you can find Beyond meat in pretty much any major grocery store. You will most likely find it in the frozen, meat alternative section. Sometimes you will also find it in the refrigerated health food section as well.

Can’t find Beyond Beef? You can substitute any vegan ground beef alternative. Or you can use lentils if you want to skip the meat alternative all together.

Guinness Beer Sloppy Joes

These vegan Beyond meat sloppy joes are an American classic, with an Irish spin. We all love traditional sloppy Joe sauce, but add beer to it, especially Guinness, and you may never go back!

Turning your sloppy joes into BEER sloppy joes is a fantastic idea. Adding beer to the mix will give your sloppy joes a complex, delicious flavor. My personal favorite beer to add is Guinness, because of its bold flavor. Plus it makes it the perfect meal or finger food for St. Patty’s Day!

IS GUINNESS VEGAN?

Yes! It was a beautiful day for vegans when Guinness finally became vegan! It’s official folks…Guinness beer is vegan!

WHAT DOES GUINNESS BEER TASTE LIKE?

For those of us who have not had Guinness…Guinness is a stout beer. It can be described as light bodied, slightly creamy and sweet. Guinness has a bit of a sharp, bitter flavor from hops, but it’s rounded out with hints of malt, cocoa, cherry and raisin.

Adding Guinness to this vegan sloppy joes sauce gives it a sharp, complex flavor that any beer enthusiast will love. For this recipe, I went with Guinness Extra Stout because it has an even bolder flavor than the original and holds up in cooking better.

Adding more beef flavor to Beyond Meat Sloppy Joes

As mentioned above, Beyond Beef has a fantastic, meaty flavor. But a little extra beef flavor never hurts! How do you do this? A wonderful little flavor bomb called Not-beef bouillon cubes! These are made by Edward and Sons and they are FANTASTIC! These Not-beef bouillon cubes make vegan “beef” gravy and “beef” broth super simple to make.

WHERE TO BUY NOT-BEEF BOUILLON CUBES

You can buy Edward and Son’s Not-Beef bouillon cubes in some grocery stores, including Whole Foods. You will find them in the broth section or the health food section of the grocery stores. You can always find them online as well! They are sold on Amazon.
